McClure is currently searching for a skilled Senior Aviation Planner on our growing Aviation team! The Senior Aviation Planner will be the primary point on a variety of high visibility and critical projects for the organization. A successful candidate will have a passion for aviation and will demonstrate past success in team leadership and the ability to mentor/develop less experienced team members.

The Senior Aviation Planner is both a client relationship- and profitability-focused leader. The Senior Aviation Planner is a skilled business-minded professional who is responsible for leading their respective team as an independent and profitable business unit while driving the overall success of the firm. The Senior Aviation Planner is the primary face of the project and is responsible for the successful completion of projects for key stakeholders. The Senior Aviation Planner ensures that the respective team is providing high quality solutions while following McClure’s proven processes for success. The Senior Aviation Planner will partner with company leadership to continue to grow their book of business and expand their client network.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to operate as an influential and collaborative part of the leadership team.
  • Ability to build a client base and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Experience with FAA Advisory Circulars 150/5070-6B Airport Master Plans and 150/5300-13B Airport Design
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of financials – demonstrated experience achieving group profit and net revenue growth.
  • Ability to champion process execution and friction-free project delivery in partnership with department leadership.
  • Strong community presence by volunteering time on boards, commissions, and organizations as a representative of McClure.
  • Strong understand of and presence in the Aviation/Transportation Industry.
  • Understanding of high-level Aviation and Transportation technical innovations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team leadership to develop Aviation Strategic growth plans (1-Year, 3-Year)
  • Lead business development activities to identify planning opportunities and strategies with new airport clients in efforts to secure new work
  • Lead the development of proposals, marketing/business objectives and strategy, and represent McClure at conferences
  • Lead, prepare, and review graphics, technical reports, work plans, scopes of work, fee proposals, and responses to Request for Proposals for projects
  • Perform project management tasks, prepare scopes of work and project budgets
  • Lead, manage, and provide technical expertise on multiple aviation project assignments
  • Prepare, attend, and conduct client presentations to airport boards, city councils, and other related public meetings
  • Prepare and conduct complete airport master plan studies, airport layout drawings, and other aviation planning deliverables
  • Prepare airport environmental/NEPA environmental documents including environmental assessments, Categorial Exclusions (CATEX)
  • Lead public and stakeholder engagement and present information to the community

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Aviation Management, Urban or Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • ~10 years of experience in the aviation industry
  • Possession of an industry appropriate certification, professional license, or a pilot’s license is preferred
  • Seven to ten years of progressive management experience in aviation
  • Sustained success at building new and maintaining existing client relationships.
