ANKENY, IOWA, November 28, 2022- Geoff Barnes has joined McClure’s Environmental team as a Geographic Information Systems Specialist.
Barnes graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science. Before coming to McClure, Barnes worked at Snyder and Associates as an Engineering Technician for the Aviation group performing Survey and AGIS work. He transitioned to a GIS and environmental services role in 2018 to provide client and companywide GIS including data collection and data hosting. He developed mobile mapping solutions for internal and external clients and completed wetland and stream delineations, project permitting, mitigation bank site selection, and concepting work. Barnes also performed project support work including impact avoidance analysis, public engagement, construction observation, and support.
Barnes will be providing GIS services to internal and external clients as well as general support services within the Environmental group. He is looking forward to growing McClure’s GIS services and taking on new projects. When asked what made him decide to join McClure, he said, “the people and company culture.
