COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA, April 24, 2023 – Matt Vermeersch has joined the Survey team as a Crew Member.
Vermeersch graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. Prior to joining McClure, he worked for Syngenta. He started at Syngenta as an Agronomist growing sunflowers and sweet corn with farmers in northern California and Idaho. He then worked on the engineering team doing design/build and new construction projects for the conditioning. After that, he was a Process Engineer at the Syngenta Omaha, NE chemical plant managing the insecticide, fungicide, and seed care unit. Lastly, his most recent role was Automation and Maintenance Lead for the corn plants out of Elkhorn, NE.
Vermeersch will be working on the Survey team as a Crew Member as well as functioning as a Resident Project Representative (RPR) for the Aviation team. He is looking forward to learning a new field of engineering. When asked what made him decide to join McClure, he said, “Two reasons. First, I was looking for a company that valued me and a work-life balance for my family. I had heard from McClure team members I knew, how great of a company it is to work for. Secondly, I felt my learning opportunities were slowing down and I was ready for a new challenge.”
