Carter Smith, EIT Joins McClure

CORALVILLE, IOWA, February 3, 2025 – Carter Smith has joined McClure’s Aviation team as an On-Site Representative. 

Smith is currently  in his final semester at the University of Iowa, studying Civil Engineering. He recently passed his Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam to become an Engineer-in-Training (EIT). Before joining McClure, he interned with the City of Waukee as an Engineering Intern, gaining experience in surveying and inspecting residential projects. He also interned with McGough as an on-site project manager, overseeing an office building remodel in downtown Des Moines. Most recently, he worked with Shive-Hattery’s land development and transportation teams, assisting with project design. 

Smith will collaborate with the Aviation team to support McClure’s vision of making lives better. He is excited to focus on design during the winter months and see his work come to life during construction.When asked what led him to join McClure, he said, “I really enjoyed speaking with the team members and felt that they were a group of people I could be successful with.”
