CLIVE, Iowa, August 9, 2018 – Chris Klemesrud has joined McClure, a Midwest-based Engineering, Surveying, and Planning firm as Controller, based out of the Clive, Iowa office.
“I’m looking forward to working for a company with structure, accountability, and clear goals set in place. I’m also anticipating the size of McClure; a bigger company allows you to do more,” said Klemesrud. “I’ve spent a lot of time around engineers and I’m excited to be working with them now.”
Klemesrud’s position at McClure became available when Dan Duve was promoted from Controller to Chief Financial Officer in May as part of McClure’s growth plans following the acquisition of Shafer, Kline & Warren (SKW) – nearly doubling McClure’s headcount.
“We’ve been eagerly awaiting Chris’ arrival at McClure,” said Dan Duve, Chief Financial Officer. “We’re confident that his experience and talents will allow for a smooth transition into the McClure team and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
Klemesrud previously worked as Assistant Controller at Kum & Go, a major Midwest convenience store chain, for six years before assuming a position as Controller at Kuder, a career guidance solutions provider, for three years.
At McClure, Klemesrud will be responsible for the accuracy of the financial data through strengthening the budgeting process and internal controls, as well as leveraging his accounting manufacturing background to improve processes.
Klemesrud holds a degree in Chemistry from Iowa State University and is a member of the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants.
