McClure’s Infrastructure Solutions for Lenexa Logistics Center Southeast and North

by | Jun 25, 2025 | Development, Thought Leadership

lenexa logistics case study

The demand for modern warehouse space continues to grow—and McClure is proud to play a role in helping communities meet that need. In Lenexa, Kansas, we partnered on multiple developments within the Lenexa Logistics Center, delivering full-service civil engineering, surveying, and construction observation support across several sites.

Meeting the Challenge

As the demand for modern warehouse and distribution facilities continues to rise, the City of Lenexa and its development partners faced the challenge of delivering large-scale industrial space across multiple parcels—all while meeting infrastructure, permitting, and stormwater requirements. McClure was brought in to provide comprehensive civil engineering and surveying services that could keep pace with the project’s complexity and timeline.

Supporting Growth Across Multiple Sites

Our team supported projects within both the Lenexa Logistics Centre East and Lenexa Logistics Centre North, delivering full-service civil engineering, surveying, and third-party construction observation across more than 100 acres of land.

Lenexa Logistics Centre East – Lots 2, 3, and 4

For this 31-acre site, McClure supported the development of three separate warehouse buildings, totaling 606,623 sq. ft. and providing 464 parking spaces. Our team delivered site-wide civil engineering and infrastructure solutions to serve all three buildings and their shared access needs. Services included:

  • Final site planning and civil site design
  • Sanitary sewer main extension and installation inspection
  • Design of 1,700 linear feet of public roadway
  • Regional stormwater detention and water quality treatment
  • Third-party construction observation
  • Surveying services and preparation of several final plats

Lenexa Logistics Centre North – Phase 1 and Phase 2

At the 27.4-acre North Phase 2 site, we supported the development of a 565,027 sq. ft. warehouse with 471 parking spaces—known as Building 5. Our involvement in Lenexa Logistics Centre North also extended beyond this phase.

In Phase 1, McClure provided civil site design and infrastructure engineering for two additional buildings, helping lay the groundwork for the first wave of development. In Phase 2, we also provided support for MSI, located just north of Building 5.

Our services across both phases included:

  • Final site planning and civil site improvement design
  • Sanitary sewer design and inspection
  • Regional stormwater management systems
  • Third-party construction observation
  • Surveying services and final plat preparation

Additional Site Support

McClure also provided engineering services for:

  • Lot 2 – Standard Beverage
  • Lot 8 – Flex Warehouse

These projects contributed additional flexible warehouse space and supported distribution operations throughout the development.

Building More Than Warehouses

From utilities to stormwater to streets, our work extended far beyond individual buildings. We helped design the infrastructure that supports the broader development—laying the foundation for long-term functionality, resilience, and growth across the entire Lenexa Logistics Center.

Today, the development includes seven buildings in Lenexa Logistics Centre South, three in East, and four in North, spanning both Phase 1 and Phase 2. And with more buildings planned, the logistics hub continues to grow.

At McClure, we’re committed to Making Lives Better through thoughtful design, reliable infrastructure, and close collaboration with our partners. The Lenexa Logistics Center is a clear example of how we help communities build for tomorrow while delivering results today.
