COLUMBIA, Missouri, November 30, 2021 – Gary has joined McClure’s Columbia office as a Senior Project Engineer.
Cunningham graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia (MU). He has received a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Cunningham has minors in math, chemistry, and biology and holds a graduate certificate in Engineering Medicine, Innovation, and Start-Up Management. Cunningham is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Gary brings 30 years of experience to McClure. Right out of college, he worked for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for five years. Gary entered the consulting world after his time with the DNR for 15 years designing water/wastewater systems for cities, subdivisions, and industries in Missouri and surrounding states. For the past ten years, Cunningham has worked for the MU, teaching Civil Engineering and Natural Resources courses. He has also taught Project Management courses in the College of Engineering and MU’s Architectural Studies department. Cunningham is in the process of completing his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from MU.
In his role, Cunningham will be working with the Water team, primarily focusing on project management, technical assistance, and QA/QC to achieve our vision of making lives better. He said, “I am looking forward to mentoring young engineers the most!”
When asked what made him decide to join McClure, Cunningham said, “The time was right for me. McClure was open to allowing me to have a flexible schedule, and the idea of doing work as a consultant and as a mentor/teacher appealed to me.”
