The Kansas City Transportation team lost half of their staff with the retirement of Jay Burress in March 2023. Kait Hanson saw this as an opportunity to broaden her capabilities to serve clients on a higher level. She cinched up her bootstraps and quickly got to work. Examples of what she has done so far include finalizing design for the roadway portion of Missouri S&T Bridge, met deadlines for submittal of three different Kansas City, Missouri road projects, coordinated work with sub-consultants to bid a fourth KCMO project, arranged progress meetings with clients and subs, and took over construction administration of the Paseo Gateway roadway improvements. Kait has done all of this while managing her kids’ summer schedule and taking a little time to enjoy her garden, AND learning to play the trumpet along the side of her son learning to play the French Horn. Thank you, Kait, for your work to keep Clients happy and having the tenacity to never miss a deadline.
