LOW WATER CROSSING REPLACEMENT BRIDGE 2700010 BRO-B099(22)

Project Overview

McClure provided survey, hydraulic analysis, permits, preliminary and final bridge design and geotechnical design and we are providing materials testing, and construction observation services to replace this Low Water Crossing utilizing the BRO program. The existing structure was a concrete Low Water Crossing with multiple pipes conveying the low water flow in the South Wyaconda River Scotland County, Missouri. Due to the flow of the river, the crossing was closed more than half the year. The final design included a single span structure with H-Piles for the substructure and precast prestressed concrete NU girders for the superstructure with a concrete deck. Installing a single span structure will allow for increased hydraulic capacity and reduced potential for scour. Additional width provided by the new structure allows for two-way traffic and large agricultural equipment as well.

 

Project Highlights:

  • Utilized a single-span structure to better convey the water and reduce future
    maintenance.
  • Improved access along the county road due to water over the Low Water
    Crossing.
  • Satisfied the requirements of the BRO Program.
