Iowa Falls Municipal Airport, Rehabilitation Runway 13-31 and Construct Parallel Taxiway B

McClure provided design, bidding, and construction administration services for the reconstruction of Runway 13/31 and construction of Parallel Taxiway B at Iowa Falls Municipal Airport. The projects were delivered concurrently to maximize construction efficiency and minimize operational impacts. Runway 13/31 was reconstructed using an unbonded PCC overlay selected for its ability to utilize existing pavement and soil conditions while improving long‑term performance.
The runway scope included targeted pavement repairs, milling, joint sealing, updated pavement markings, drainage improvements, and modifications to airfield lighting and guidance systems to maintain compliance with FAA standards.
The Parallel Taxiway B project completed the remaining portion of a full‑length parallel taxiway, including new PCC pavement, a connector taxiway, lighting, drainage features, and pavement markings. By coordinating both projects under a single construction effort, McClure reduced the duration of airport closures and improved airfield safety by eliminating the need for back‑taxi operations on the runway.
