NORTH LIBERTY, IOWA,  March 6, 2023 – Trent Wilson passed the Professional Engineering (PE) exam to become a Professional Engineer.

“McClure and the Water team are happy to recognize Trent for this significant career accomplishment,” said Gary Brons, Vice President of Water. “His hard work in prepping for the P.E. exam while balancing deadlines and life outside of work has paid off! We are proud of Trent and happy for both him and his family.”

“Trent has been a valued member of the Water team in McClure’s North Liberty office since joining the firm in 2018 as an intern/co-op student. During the first few years of Trent’s career, his work mainly focused on Resident Project Representative and Construction Administration services on two large wastewater treatment plant projects in Fairfield, IA, and Tipton, MO. Since Trent transitioned into a full-time role in 2021, he has taken on progressively larger roles in multiple water and wastewater facility plan reports and the design of wastewater pumping and conveyance systems,” said Alex Potter, Team Leader of Water.

“This culminated in early 2023 when the Fairfield STEP 3 Improvements project (15 MGD wastewater lift station and force main project) was bid and awarded. While working on this project, Trent was also extremely busy at home raising two children under the age of 2 with his wife, Sarah, and studying for the P.E. exam. We are all excited and proud to welcome Trent into the Professional Engineering profession and are excited he has chosen to grow his career with McClure,” said Potter.

To become a Professional Engineer, an individual must attain a four-year college degree, pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, complete four years of professional experience, and pass the PE exam.

“I’m mostly grateful. A lot of effort went into preparing for the exam and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family and my team at McClure,” said Wilson. I’m looking forward to reallocating the time I spent studying to spend more time with my wife and children. I’m also looking forward to sharing my experience and helping to support my team members as they prepare for the P.E. exam.
