McClure was select to design the demolition of 5 tennis courts and replacement with 7 new tournament‑worthy tennis courts and 2 new basketball courts. To extend the longevity of the slabs, the McClure designed the courts using post‑tension cast‑in‑place concrete. As the city’s first attempt with these slabs, the Parks Department is optimistic about this newer technology as they consider upgrades to additional sports courts over the upcoming maintenance periods.

In addition to the courts, McClure provided site design services, structural design of the tendons and tensioning sequence, geotechnical investigation, stormwater management, fencing design, landscaping, and court lighting. The courts will be used by the North High School athletes and members of the metropolitan community during day and night hours, so efficient lighting is important as glare is detrimental to athletic performance. During construction, McClure provided shop drawing review and construction review of the post‑tension concrete.
