Cambria Hotel
Somerville, MA
The Cambria Hotel structure encompassed 80,000 square feet of load-bearing cold-formed steel framing supported by a two-story post-tensioned concrete podium, extending up to the sixth floor. The floor system utilized composite deck panels bearing on demising walls, while lateral stability was achieved through reinforced concrete shear walls combined with strap-braced walls.
McClure’s scope included the design of the load-bearing cold-formed steel framing and the lateral system, including diaphragms and concrete shear wall cores. In addition, McClure coordinated and produced panel tickets for the prefabricated, panelized cold-formed steel framing, ensuring precision and efficiency throughout the project.
