Evans Park Trail Connection
Adel, IA
Desiring to provide additional bike and pedestrian connectivity throughout the community, the City of Adel hired McClure to obtain outside funding for a mile long recreational trail extending from Evans Park, which is located in the center of Adel. The trail ultimately connects Pocket Park to Evans Park, joins adjacent neighborhoods, and completes the missing link connecting Evans Park to Meadow View Elementary School.
Upon approval of grant funds, McClure was able to combine two funding opportunities into one project. McClure developed and coordinated conceptual and preliminary designs to stay within the budget of the project. Additionally, we worked through the environmental and cultural assessments, designed the pedestrian bridge, led and completed all permitting efforts, provided public information and conducted one-on-one property owner meetings, delivered continuous utility coordination, performed water main relocation design, and provided right-of-way and easement acquisition services in the final design stages.
