Hancher Auditorium is a landmark project in Iowa City, Iowa, where staff now at McClure led the comprehensive civil engineering effort. Their responsibilities included site layout, grading, flood protection, utility infrastructure, stormwater management, and parking lot design for this complex and high-profile facility. The site presented unique challenges due to its location in a flood-prone area, requiring careful coordination of flood mitigation strategies and resilient infrastructure solutions. Utility design involved routing and coordination of domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems, integrated with tight site constraints and aesthetic considerations.

In addition to civil engineering services, McClure supported the project with structural design for all exterior cold-formed steel (CFS) components, including curtain wall framing, soffits, and custom connections to the superstructure. McClure worked closely with the construction team to deliver timely documents and responsive support throughout construction.
