McClure provided a comprehensive structural assessment for a 100‑year‑old building that was damaged following a sanitary sewer collapse. As a result of the failure and related settlement, the City purchased the building to resolve pending litigation and evaluate its long‑term viability. The assessment evaluated whether the structure was safe for occupancy and identified improvements required to stabilize and preserve the building.

The structure was supported by a rock and mortar foundation with brick masonry walls that had experienced cracking due to foundation settlement. Geotechnical investigations were performed to determine whether settlement was ongoing and to identify necessary stabilization measures for the foundation and walls. Structural elevations were completed to document existing conditions and evaluate roof framing support where rafters bore on the masonry walls.

McClure prepared a detailed report summarizing existing conditions, recommended stabilization and repair measures, and associated cost estimates. The effort directly supported subsequent Phase 2 design services for implementing improvements needed to restore the building’s safety and long‑term structural stability.
