Buckeye Creek Pump Station
Kansas City, MO
Kansas City Water engaged McClure to design a disposal system that allows contractors and Kansas City Water crews to safely and efficiently offload the contents of sewer vacuum trucks. The system was designed to separate sand and debris from liquids while enabling trucks to unload without the need to back up. Key features include drainage to a sand trap, a fixed screen for capturing floating debris, mud valves for dewatering, and a telescoping valve for controlled decanting. Concrete barriers were also incorporated to facilitate maintenance and allow a wheeled loader to remove debris from the drying pad to the sand trap.
