McClure is the Engineer of Record for the Kimpton Plano Hotel, a five-story hotel and conference story above underground valet parking. The hotel features 162 guest rooms on Headquarters Drive in Plano. The hotel is designed to reflect Kimpton’s signature boutique aesthetic and elevated guest experience.

McClure is engineer of record for four-stories of wood framing on top of two-stories of steel framing with composite concrete deck. Our team is working in close collaboration with the architect and owner to deliver an efficient, cost-effective hotel and conference center while meeting Kimpton’s exacting brand standards. The hotel boasts a ballroom, meeting rooms, restaurant, lounge, and an outdoor lap pool. Each space required extensive coordination to accommodate complex architectural layouts and integrate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

The hotel rooms were designed with consideration of occupant comfort and efficient mechanical and plumbing layouts. Deep TJI joists floor construction reduce vibrations felt within the rooms to enhance the experience of the guests. The deep TJI joist also allowed for larger suites throughout the hotel.
