Osage County Bridge
Linn, MO
The existing bridge on Osage Valley Road was a steel truss structure classified as fracture critical. McClure had previously inspected the bridge as part of MoDOT’s Fracture Critical Bridge Inspection Program. Based on McClure’s recommendations, the County completed interim repairs to keep the bridge operational under a load posting before ultimately deciding to replace the structure using Off-System Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program (BRO) funds.
McClure provided surveying, hydraulic analysis, permitting, geotechnical design, preliminary layout, and final bridge design services. The completed structure is a 136’-6” single-span bridge with precast prestressed NU70 concrete girders, a concrete deck, and steel H-piles supporting the substructure. The new design improves hydraulic capacity, reduces scour risk, and accommodates two-way traffic and large agricultural equipment—an essential upgrade for the surrounding farming community. McClure also provided materials testing and construction observation services to support successful project delivery.
