Overland Park Fire and Police Station

Overland Park Fire and Police Station

Overland Park, KS

McClure partnered with WSKF Architects to deliver construction plans for the Overland Park Fire and Police Station. The scope of work included site design for parking, grading, storm drainage, utilities, site lighting, retaining walls, and landscaping, as well as support for garage bays, offices, and living quarters for safety personnel. A key feature of the site is a more than 15,000-square-foot bioretention facility designed to treat stormwater runoff while supporting sustainability goals.

The landscape design incorporates native plantings and engineered soil mixes to enhance on-site infiltration and minimize irrigation needs. Special attention was given to the fire station’s exit drive, located near the intersection of 163rd Street and Antioch Road. The traffic signal design was carefully modified to accommodate the emergency vehicle exit, ensuring safe and efficient response times.
